Yesterday we had a severe storm and around 3:00pm lightning stuck building 29/30. After a visit from the fire department, due to the fire alarms being activated and smoke coming from the meter room, it was determined the fire alarm panel was hit by lightning. This panel will now have to be replaced. We also received calls from several units that the lightning strike ruined their televisions and other electronics. If you own a unit in building 29/30 and it is unoccupied at this time, we urge you to check your unit or have someone check your unit in case it was damaged by the lightning strike. If you did have something damaged by the lightning (and the damage exceeds your insurance deductible), you will need to put in a claim with your homeowner’s insurance.
